Daisuke Namikawa Steps In as Roger
Daisuke Namikawa (浪川大輔) plays Roger, the leader of an A-rank adventuring party called Ryūseigun (流星群, "meteor shower"). International viewers will know him as Tōru Oikawa in Haikyu!! and Ulquiorra Cifer in Bleach.
In a comment published with the announcement, Namikawa described Roger as an older-brother figure who shows gentle, stern and cool sides in turn. He added that he hopes to watch the main characters' inner conflicts, maneuvering and growth alongside the audience. He signed off with a line that doubles as the show's premise: what is revolving payment, anyway? That part, he wrote, matters.
That needs a footnote for anyone outside Japan. Ribo-barai (リボ払い), or revolving payment, is a credit card repayment option where you pay a flat amount each month regardless of your balance, with interest accruing on whatever is left. The Japanese title, 貸した魔力は【リボ払い】で強制徴収, translates roughly as "the magic I lent out gets forcibly collected on a revolving payment plan."
A Revenge Fantasy Built on a Repayment Plan
The series is set in a world where lives are largely shaped by "Gifts" handed down by the creator god. Protagonist Lent has lent out enormous quantities of magic to the people around him, and his Gift lets him forcibly collect all of it back. After his party throws him out for being useless, he starts calling in what his former teammates owe and grows stronger on every payment he extracts.
The anime adapts the manga by Masakichi (original story) and Shingou Iijima (art), serialized in Flex Comix's web manga magazine COMIC Meteor. The series has passed 2 million copies in circulation.
Takahiro Tamano directs at SynergySP, with Ryūsuke Mori on series composition and Kazue Mori on character design. Kow Otani (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Shadow of the Colossus) is scoring the series. Reiji Kawashima voices Lent, with Emiri Katō as the support fairy Empee. Risae Matsuda (Linka), Daiki Hamano (Guy), Akira Sekine (Misa) and Yū Kobayashi (Elle) round out the named cast.
According to Japanese anime news site Anime Anime's report on the second trailer, the new trailer covers the opening stretch of the story, from Lent's exile from his party through his first meeting with his new companions. You can watch it on the official YouTube channel.
BUDDiiS and Kotani Take the Theme Songs
The opening theme is "Risk Rate" (リスクレート), a new song from BUDDiiS. Member SHOW said the track was built around the idea that getting or choosing anything carries a matching risk or cost, and called it a more grown-up, forceful side of the group than their previous work.
Kotani (こたに) provides the ending theme, "Iremono" (いれもの, meaning "container"). Kotani wrote the song while thinking about handing something to someone, receiving something, and what circulates in between. Giving does not empty you out, Kotani explained; it comes back as your own strength through the exchange. The song is meant to sit beside Lent and the others as they take the helm of their own lives again through the people they meet.
Both songs are audible in the second trailer.
Looking Ahead
Magic Repo Man starts on TV Asahi's 24-station national network on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 1:30 a.m., followed by BS Asahi on October 4 at 1:00 a.m., CS Tele-Asa Channel 1 on October 4 at 10:00 p.m., and AT-X on October 5 at 8:30 p.m., with AT-X repeats on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.
In Japan, the show streams exclusively on ABEMA and d Anime Store from October 3 at 2:00 a.m., with Japanese free-catch-up service TVer following later. No international streaming partner has been announced. Muse Communication holds Southeast Asia rights, but there is no Crunchyroll, Netflix or Prime Video deal on record for North America or Europe yet.
English-language readers can already start the source material. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga as Magic Repo Man: Dumped by My Party, I'll Cash In With a Cute Support Fairy to Become the Strongest!, and volume 1 came out on August 4, 2026.
