Passione Is Adapting a Manga About Eating Too Much
Dokagui Daisuki! Mochizuki-san, written and drawn by Kamome Maruyono, follows Mikoto Mochizuki, a 21-year-old sales administrator who answers stress and hunger by demolishing an absurd amount of food. Abura soba, sara udon, mentaiko over rice, tonkotsu ramen, doria: each dish gets the full treatment in what publisher Hakusensha bills as a limit-breaking forbidden gourmet gag comedy. The series has cleared one million copies in circulation. Japanese anime news site Anime! Anime! detailed the issue's lineup.
The TV anime was announced in early August 2026, with animation production at Passione (Higurashi: When They Cry Gou, Interspecies Reviewers). The official site lists the studio and very little else. No director, no series composition credit, no voice cast, no broadcast window.
The chapter running in the 10/1 issue strands Mochizuki before she ever reaches a plate of food, because the air conditioner in her apartment breaks. Volume 4 follows on September 29, 2026, and includes a bonus chapter drawn specifically for the book.
Three High Schoolers, Zero Requited Feelings
Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito is written by Sekina Aoi (Gamers!, Seitokai no Ichizon) with art by Ryō Tsuzura, and Hakusensha files it under bittersweet romcom. The story revolves around 奏良 (likely read Kanara), Asahi (朝陽) and Miya (美夜), three students whose one-sided crushes point at each other in a loop. Its TV anime was announced on August 28, 2026, and no studio or staff has been named publicly.
This issue runs chapters 46 and 47 back to back with color pages. According to the same Anime! Anime! report, the double chapter opens with a sleepover at Pilvi's place that the magazine describes as thoroughly improper. That sleepover sets off a long night. Volume 7 is on sale now.
The Rest of the Issue
Harada takes the lead color slot with Akuen, the artist's first serialization in a seinen magazine. It is a coming-of-age suspense horror set on the remote island of 光来島 (likely Kōraijima), and the series has an official account on X.
Sūgaku Golden also gets color pages. Tatsuhiko Kuramaru's math manga has reached the Mathematical Olympiad finals, where a field of 200 competitors is cut down to 20, and the series has passed 200,000 copies in circulation.
The 10/1 issue of Young Animal ZERO, Hakusensha's seinen manga magazine, went on sale September 9, 2026, in B5 format at ¥850 including tax. The magazine comes out on the 9th of every odd-numbered month.
Looking Ahead
Neither anime has a premiere window, a cast, or a streaming partner. Mochizuki-san at least has a studio and a live official site, so a staff announcement is the next thing to expect there. Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito has an announcement and not much more.
For readers outside Japan, the bigger gap is the manga itself. No English-language publisher has been announced for either title, and neither is available on an official English platform, so most international fans will meet both series through the anime if and when streaming rights are announced. The next issue of Young Animal ZERO arrives November 9, 2026.
