A Frieren Necktie That Only Shows Her When It Flips
COSPA, the Tokyo apparel company that turns out more than 2,500 officially licensed anime and game items a year, is putting Frieren on a necktie. The front face stays deliberately plain. Frieren is printed on the reverse of the wide blade, so she surfaces only when the tie flips or comes off at the end of the day.
COSPA is selling it as a standard regular-width tie rather than a costume piece: made in Japan, printed on polyester with a process the company says holds fine detail and saturated color. The dimensions listed in the PR TIMES announcement are 7cm at the wide blade, 4cm at the narrow blade, and 145cm end to end. It runs ¥6,050 including tax, roughly $40, with a release set for early December 2026.
Two T-Shirts Built on Gags, Not Key Art
Neither shirt in the wave is a key visual reprint. The first is the "Frieren's Seduction Ploy" tee (フリーレンの色仕掛け), which prints the anime's memorable scene of Frieren turning on the charm. It comes in S through XL in two colors, WHITE and SUMI, a charcoal shade, at ¥3,300 including tax (about $22).
The second is the Frieren & Fern "Mimic Escape" tee, which freezes Frieren at the split second before a mimic clamps down on her. That one is BLACK only, with the same S through XL sizing and the same ¥3,300 price.
Both shirts use the same blank. COSPA specifies 5.6oz fabric, a tubular body with no side seams so the shirt resists twisting in the wash, a ribbed collar, taped neck seams inside the shoulders to keep the collar from stretching out, and double stitching at the neck and cuffs.
Removable Patches for Frieren, Fern, and Stark
The wave also includes three full-color patches, one each for Frieren, Fern, and Stark, at ¥1,430 each (about $10). They measure roughly 5 x 9.5cm, are 100% polyester, and use thread in each character's signature color around the border.
Each patch has a hook-side fastener on the back and ships with a separate loop-side base patch to sew onto the item of your choice, so the patch can move between bags and jackets. They also attach directly to off-the-shelf military-style gear that already has loop panels.
Early Sales, Then a December Release
Both T-shirts go on sale early at two Japanese events this month. COSPA's booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 carries them from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, and the Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair, known locally as Kyomafu, gets them on September 19 and 20. Size S is excluded from the early run and stock is capped, with COSPA noting that other events and some stores may also sell early. Everything in the wave, including the general release of both shirts, is scheduled for early December 2026, with preorders open now through COSPA's online shop and its Frieren product list. COSPA's announcement is Japan-facing and mentions no overseas distribution.
On the anime side, Madhouse (One-Punch Man, Death Note) produced Season 2, which ran from January 16 to March 27, 2026 in Japan and streamed on Crunchyroll worldwide outside Asia. A third season covering the Golden Land arc was announced right after the finale and is set for October 2027. Viz Media publishes Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's manga in English, and the Japanese serialization has been on indefinite hiatus since October 2025 while both creators deal with health issues.
