Eris Returns After a Two-Season Absence
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation follows a 34-year-old shut-in reborn as Rudeus Greyrat in a world of swords and magic. Eris Boreas Greyrat, the hot-headed noble girl who spent all of Season 1 at Rudeus' side, hasn't appeared on screen since that season's final episode.
The preview screenshots released by Animate Times show Eris at the Sword Sanctum, training under Sword God Gal Farion (Tōru Inada) alongside her mentor Ghislaine Dedoldia (Megumi Toyoguchi). Ai Kakuma reprises the role of Eris.
During Season 1, the Fittoa Region teleportation incident scattered Eris and Rudeus across the Demon Continent. They fought their way home together, but a confrontation with Dragon God Orsted showed Eris she wasn't strong enough to protect Rudeus. She left his side to close that gap, and her search for power brought her to the Sword Sanctum and Gal Farion's blade.
Season 3's opening episodes carry paired titles: Episode 1, "Moe yo Kyōken" (Burn, Mad Dog), and Episode 2, "Hoe yo Kyōken" (Howl, Mad Dog). The official synopsis describes Eris clashing with everyone around her, swinging her sword relentlessly, consumed by frustration and killing intent as she pushes to get stronger.
New Voices at the Sword Sanctum
Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna in Sword Art Online, Zero Two in Darling in the Franxx) joins the cast as Nina Farion, a Sword Saint-ranked trainee already honing her skills under Gal Farion when Eris arrives. The season also adds Yōko Hikasa (Mio Akiyama in K-On!) as Isolte Cruel, Katsuyuki Konishi as Auber Corvette, and Mari Yokoo as Reida Ria. Returning alongside Kakuma is Tomokazu Sugita as the past-life narrator.
Studio Bind, the studio founded specifically to adapt Mushoku Tensei from start to finish, continues production with director Ryōsuke Shibuya returning after leading Season 2's second cour. Character designers Sanae Shimada and Ryōta Furukawa are back, along with composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa.
